Layer47 are able to quickly on-board new customers onto a Cloud infrastructure and meet any range of standard requirements. Layer47 take pride in being able to work with customers to build bespoke solutions for each unique new customer issue. Many Cloud offerings are, for better and for worse, utility services which, whilst they have the benefits of scale and simplicity, also make for a distant customer relationships, a lack of communication and accountability and no way of addressing complex, unique problems.
Layer47 are different, and work hand-in-hand with customers to design solutions tailored to their specific needs, with specialist focus in web performance engineering and DR / BC solutions.
Layer47 recognise that making the step to the Cloud is a big leap for many organisations, and that the desire to take advantage of the benefits of the Cloud may be countered by fears about reliability and accountability.
For this reason, Layer47 offer customers as much flexibility as possible in engagement, whether that is on the size and scope of the deployment, or the length of the contract. All Layer47 Cloud services are designed to scale seamlessly by default; services can grow with your business and its requirements. In addition, all services are backed by cast-iron SLAs to ensure Layer47 are financially penalised if there is ever a slip up in the service promise.
Layer47 do not use call centers and do not outsource support, each customer is assigned to a specific support team and all contact with Layer47 is handled by the same small group of skilled engineers, allowing a better understanding of customers’ business requirements. Layer47 support 'pods' replace the standard 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support model with small, highly skilled operational teams. This encourages knowledge share, transfer of skills and the ultra-fast resolution of issues. Each team has a fixed number of customers to look after and is actively targeted on keeping them happy. Operating with integrity, Layer47 strive to develop strong customer relationships, based on communication, trust and understanding. The heart of the Layer47 Cloud is in the UK, deployed across multiple data centers, fibre-interconnected to ensure complete inter-site resilience with full failover capability between data centers.
The primary data centers is one of only a handful of Tier 4 data centers in the whole of the UK, with multiple diverse dark fibre providers ensuring resilient connectivity, and inter-connects to failover facilities to ensure total platform resilience.
The core infrastructure is built on a “best of breed” basis, utilising cutting-edge technology from leading vendors – whether that be IBM Blades, VMware virtualisation, multiple resilient SAN Storage Arrays, jetNEXUS load balancing and acceleration and many others.
Layer are not committed to any single vendor anywhere in the technology stack, ensuring that the platform can and always will continue to be built on top of whichever technologies pass a stringent test, development, deployment and performance requirements.
Layer47's central intelligence, management, provisioning and acceleration engine - is securely connected to a series of global PoPs (Points of Presence), all of which meet the exacting standards Layer47 require to be able to deliver always-available services to customers.
